PD 31st March – Exposing Voice

Exposing Voice: Why is it so hard?

According to a recent survey by ETAWA, voice is the hardest concept for teachers to teach and students to understand.

Whether your students are finding it difficult to understand how voice operates within a written text, or you are looking for ways to teach voice in visual texts, this PD will support your understanding and teaching of voice. By looking at how voice functions in visual and written texts, this PD will provide you with examples of how to engage students with the concept of voice.

This PD will go beyond the ATAR English glossary definition of voice but will still be relevant for teachers in their everyday practice.

Details:

Time: Thursday March 31, 4.30-5.30pm
Venue: Physics Building @ UWA

The English Teachers Association of WA acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today. Country has, for thousands of years, been a place of learning. We at the English Teachers Association of WA are proud to share in this long tradition.
